yarnalong_gsheller_grayIt's Yarn Along again. Time to see what knitters are knitting and reading all around the interwebs. It's a great way to find new knitting blogs and get people to find yours too!! Click here to read all of our old yarn along posts. You can see our progress on our knitting for almost the past year!

It's been a while since my last Yarn Along. I've been up to my eyeballs in kid stuff, but I've found a little time for some knitting and reading to share with you.

I finished the first pair of Christmas socks. I think this is my first pair of finished socks this year. It's almost July and I've only done one pair of socks. That's kind of crazy to me. I don't know how I'm going to fit in another two pairs, but I'm committed to it. As for reading, it's magazine time again. I just don't have time to read full books at the moment, as much as I want to.

If I was going to read a book I think I would re-read all of the Game of Thrones books because I'm impatient for the Winds of Winter to come out. I'm looking at two-plus years of impatience. Does anyone have another other series of books that might capture my attention? Let me know in the comments!

In other news I've planted a container garden. I can't believe my cucumbers are doing so well. Everyone told me that cucumbers are hard to do in a container, but mine are going to town. I've already got some baby pickles! Can't wait for August. There will be lots of pesto, lots of tomato salads, maybe some ratatouille too.

Oh, and we had some unexpected knitting weather yesterday. It's been raining, which it rarely does this late in the season in California, but it was a welcome sight. It was so nice to cozy up in my new sweater... now if only I could get the time to work on the new sweater!

Here's a closer look at the new socks. It's Colinette Jitterbug, which I adore in an unknown colorway.

What are you up to this summer? Be sure to say hello in the comments!
