I must be taking this loose ends thing seriously. Last week I finished up the mitered cross blanket and mentioned something about picking up the Dahlia cardigan again and what do you know I actually get some knitting done on it.

I trashed the upper right back park that I had knitted incorrectly and started that piece all over again. Then I knit the lower back piece and joined them up with the lace panel to begin the right front and arm. I still have to read the pattern closely a few times to avoid making more mistakes. Sometimes I think these patterns could be written more clearly, but I'm sure my version of clarity would probably confuse someone else. You can see the progress in the picture below, but the color in the above photo is much more accurate.

This clearing out of old knitting projects (and ignoring that textured shawl) must be working because it looks like we might be nearing the end of our unemployment nightmare. Keep your fingers crossed for us. We're hoping for some good news this week. We even went out this weekend after weeks of staying close to home hesitant to spend money. We hung out with friends and took the boys out to a museum. It feels like we're getting back on the road.

I really want to start knitting the Hampstead Wreath in time for the holidays, but if I pick up another project it's going to start feeling a lot like startitis around here and I'm going to feel silly knitting something for Christmas if it doesn't get finished in time to use it.

As for blogging if you haven't seen I've written a new interchangeable knitting needle review for the Knitters Pride Karbonz needles and it's worth checking out if you're looking for a set of interchangeable knitting needles this holiday season. I'll be writing about the new Knitters Pride Bamboo needles this week so stay tuned for that.
